Last week at Google I/O 2013, a conference held in San Francisco, coupon affiliate RetailMeNot was revealed as a featured partner for the new Google Wallet – which is expected to be available to consumers later this year.
RetailMeNot.com joins big name retailers that are also working with the Google Wallet service including The Sports Authority, Forever 21, Advance Auto Parts, Last Call by Neiman Marcus, Alaska Airlines, Red Mango, Marriott Rewards, and The Body Shop and many others.

I am really getting into crowdfunding. I know it’s been around for a while but recently I’ve found a few specific projects that excited me enough to dive in.
Crowdfunding is basically a way for an individual or a company to underwrite the cost of financing a product or service by getting people that like the idea to put up money or buy into it prior to completion. There are hundreds of platforms that do crowdfunding including: Kickstarter, Indiegogo, CrowdSupply. Some estimate there are more than 450 crowdfunding platforms.

Speaking at ChannelAdvisor’s annual Catalyst conference, held in Las Vegas last week, Facebook Head of Retail and E-Commerce for Global Vertical Marketing, Nicolas Franchet, talked to retailers about the latest trends in social media and how to build and maintain social momentum as a part of a comprehensive e-commerce strategy.
In the session, titled People First: Social Marketing Strategies to Build Your Brand and Drive Revenue, Franchet described Facebook as “the perfect marketing system,” and a social media platform that is complimentary for retailers with customers that want to shop and also learn more about the company and brand.

Addressing more than 1,000 attendees at the company’s annual Catalyst conference, held in Las Vegas earlier this week, ChannelAdvisor CEO Scot Wingo talked about huge ecommerce growth fueled by Amazon and eBay, as well as unveiling updates to its ChannelAdvisor services.
Founded more than a decade ago (20019) ChannelAdvisor works with more than 2,000 retailers and manufacturers that offer products through marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay.com, comparison shopping engines, and paid search marketing. ChannelAdvisor recently announced plans for an initial public offering of its stock.

Last week Google Affiliate Network (GAN) announced via its blog that it would be shuttering the business by the end of July.
J.J. Hirschle, head of Google Affiliate Network wrote in a blog post that the company would focus on newer CPA tools like Product Listing Ads, remarketing, and Conversion Optimizer.
